STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe:
- The Bible is the inerrant Word of God ( II Peter 1:2, John 17:17), the infallible rule of faith and conduct for all people (II Timothy 3:16);
- There is one triune God, the Creator (Genesis 1:1), eternally existent in three persons-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (I John 5:7-9, Matthew 3:16-17);
- In the deity of our Lord Jesus (Colossians 1:15-18), in His virgin birth (Luke 1:30-35), in His sinless life, (I Peter 2:22, I John 3:5), in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death (Hebrews 9:26), in His bodily resurrection (Acts 2:32), in His ascension (Acts 1:9-12) to the right hand of the Father (Hebrews 1:3), and in His personal future return to earth to rule for a thousand years (Revelation 20:6);
- In the imminent coming of Christ for the true Church- this is the blessed and living hope of all believers (Revelation 20-6);
- In the person and the work of the Holy Spirit,with His fruit (Galatians 5:22-23) and gifts (I Corinthians 12:8-11) abiding in the Church;
- The Baptism of the Holy Spirit to Acts 2:4 maybe received by all believers for the empowerment in life and service;
- In the spiritually lost condition of men and the essential need for the “new birth” by faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 5:12, John 3:3);
- In the justification of sinners by grace for the sake of Christ, received by faith alone (Ephesians 2:8-9);
- In the sacraments of the Lord’s supper and baptism in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit for all believers (I Corinthians 11:23-25, Acts 2:38);
- Through Christ’s atoning death on the cross,healing for the human body is available in answer to faith and prayer (Isaiah 53, James 5:14-15);
- In the active work of Christians and the Church in society, in promoting the Gospel of Christ and discipleship to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8);
- In the bodily resurrection of the saved and the lost, one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting punishment (Matthew 25:46).
